a cinderella story

it seems odd to blog about shoes, but those who know me know that i really like them, so it somehow seems appropriate (and frankly, what the heck else am i going to blog about on a rainy monday?) now, i freely admit that i might have a bit of a shoe problem. in fact, i recently noticed that i have two pairs of the exact same shoes. not similar style. not similar colour. the exact same pair. no, i didn’t realize that when i bought them the second time around...i guess you could say i just really, really liked them.

anyway, once upon a time in a land far away (this past summer, in toronto) i saw a pair of shoes i was pretty sure i was in heavy ‘like’ with, but wasn’t sure if it was true love or if i could rock them. i wanted to give it a bit of thought...how exactly would i wear these? see, i’m not always so impulsive. so i slept on it...or them. for two weeks.

by the time i was sure it was ‘love’, and that we were meant to be together, the shoes were gone. sold out here. and sold out everywhere. i'm not going to lie, i may have died a little. so, from that day forth, i continued popping in and out of stores on the off-chance i might see my shoes. months passed. stores were continually checked, online sites were forever perused. i had little hope we would ever be reunited. until yesterday...

the rain clouds parted and the sun shone through them.

and a pair of 6.5 nike blazers were suddenly available online. just one pair. in my size.

happiness should be delivered from the uk in 7-14 days. can.hardly.wait.

(oh, and if anyone is a size 7 and needs a pair of black, round toe heels, drop me a line. i may have an extra pair ;) )
