this little piggy.

went to the ex this weekend!

and while we weren't up for taking in many of the rides (my brother and i were trapped on one when i was younger...), i have zero problem in partaking in the food. especially when all of the toronto blogs are writing about the deep-fried concoctions and the entire menu of food available on a stick.

here's a run-down of what we ate, and what we thought...please don't judge!

deep fried mac and cheese - not what i was expecting - was thinking that it would be served as deep fried balls of the pasta. instead it was the individual noodles that had been fried. reminded me of the deep fried ravioli at alice fazooli's. overall, not bad. i might order it again

deep fried oreo - this was one of my favourites. more bite-sized (or cookie-sized, rather) and pretty tasty

deep fried mars bar - a bit too ooey gooey for me...but, it could be really good with some vanilla ice cream as a dessert (yes, i just recommeded they make it even more fattening!)

deep fried pop tart - ick. way, way, way too much batter. a big greasy mess. but hey, we had to try it. would not recommend

deep fried ice cream sandwich - admit it, this one has you intrigued. how do they deep fry ice cream? does it melt? the answer: they cover it in an excessive amount of batter and then deep fry it. and yes, the ice cream does melt. you basically get a greasy, foamy (from the melted ice cream) mess. again, would not recommend

tiny tom donuts - always delicious. always worth the wait. classic cinnamon baby donuts. mmm

deep fried homemade chips - actually these weren't too bad. the only problem is, there were SO many of them and after a while they got a bit gross. i'd recommend...if you happen to be visiting the ex with eight other people

the rest of the day was spent soaking in the sun and trying to walk our thousand calories off.
