TIFF picks were due today at 7pm. did you get yours in? i dropped off our book at lunchtime and was surprised at 1. how many people were in line to drop off (clearly i wasn't the only clever one thinking i'd sneak over during my lunch break) and 2. how many people were standing about, still trying to make their selections. by the looks of my twitter feed, things stayed that way right up until the deadline.

here's hoping most of you (and we) get our picks. speaking of which, here's where we netted out on them. these were picked based on a few criteria:
- regular screenings - with the ticket package, you aren't able to select any premium/gala showings
- time of day - unfortunately a lot of really great movies are playing between the hours of 9-5...otherwise known as cheryl's working time
- previous showings - things that did really well at cannes, venice or sundance that sounded interesting
- release dates - would i have 'drive' or 'moneyball' on this list? heck yes! if they didn't open so close to (or in the case of 'drive', during) the festival

as an aside, i took the screengrab above from the scheduling wizardry that is tiffr. great bookmarklet/shortlist/scheduling website for your tiff planning. you should definitely check it out if you're going to see a few shows.
