i think i might be falling in love with you.
the good thing about flying is that being on a plane gives you the excuse to watch movies you wouldn’t normally watch...and then, if you accidentally bring them up in conversation, you can play the ‘i saw it on a plane’ card when anyone looks uber mortified about what you’ve subjected yourself to. being on a plane also gives you time to think. too much time to think really. so in between watching ‘twilight’ and ‘four christmases’ (don’t judge me), i thought about my favourite romantic comedies and thought i’d list them here (don’t worry, i’ll keep it to 10). and before we even go there...yes, i do love hugh grant, and yes he appears on this list a lot. but he’s king of the romcom, you can’t deny that.
- love actually – what’s not to love? it’s like five stories all in one. really sweet and hilarious. ridiclously amazing cast. hugh grant as prime minister? yes. please. i might become a citizen just to vote. oh, and billy bob as the US president? amaze.
- four weddings and a funeral – okay, this movie is starting to date itself a little. it has its moments where the cheese factor is a little unbearable, even for me. but it’s a classic. and i’ll still watch it every time it's on tv. every.time.
- about a boy – good book. good movie.
- the wedding singer – 80s music? adam sandler? there are no words. awes.
- forgetting sarah marshall – okay, the shocking nudity within the first five mins of the movie made me laugh my face right off. love.this.movie.
- two weeks notice – i think i cried. big surprise.
- miss congeniality – embarrassingly, i watch this movie every time it's on. i don’t have any really great rationale why. it’s cute. the end.
- you’ve got mail – had to be on the list. it’s just one of those classic romantic comedies. what ever happened to meg ryan anyway? last i saw her she looked like she belonged on awfulplasticsurgery.com. sadness.
- notting hill – ah, a movie star in love with a commoner. it happens, right?
- the break up – technically, i’m not sure if this classifies as a romantic comedy or not...but i’ll allow it. sure, it stars ‘the chin’, but vince vaughn is hilarious in it.
in other news, my shoes have yet to arrive and my vacation is over. today was a bit of a crapper and the sunshine and lollipops are at an all time low. buuuuut i’m hopeful for a delivery notice tomorrow, and there are only 51 days till my next vacation. yes. i counted.
